Porkies

Questions

Asked, and answered honestly.

The host would like it noted that this is the only page on the site with no lies on it.

Is Porkies free?
Yes. The whole built-in question bank is free at every preset, with no daily limit and no ads. Nobody pays to join a room. The only things you can buy are generated packs and the Supporter membership, and you never need either to play.
What does buying a pack get me?
A place or a topic pack is 12 fact bluffs, each one checked against a source before you see it. A crowd pack is Truth About You and Guess Whose questions made for your group. Packs are ready in about a minute, are saved so you can play them again, and can be shared by link. If a pack fails its checks, you get it back by itself. Packs are bought in the app, never expire, and belong to Porkies, so they can't be spent in our other games.
What happens to the details I type for a crowd pack?
They're used to write that one pack, and that's all. They're kept inside the pack so you can play it again, they're never used for anything else and never shown to anyone, and when you delete the pack, they go with it. A crowd pack never invents facts about real people: it turns what you give it into questions the people answer about themselves. Only type details everyone named would be happy to have in the game. More on the privacy page.
Can someone else get my pack?
Place and topic packs, yes: if someone later asks for the same place or topic, they may be offered a pack someone already made. Those packs are facts about the world, with nothing about you in them. Crowd packs, never. They are only ever yours, and whoever you share the link with.
What is Supporter?
Empyreal Games Supporter is one monthly membership for all our games. While it's on, you get a Supporter mark beside your name and room themes in every game, 2 packs every month in Porkies (used before any you bought), and credits in every other Empyreal game. Monthly packs refresh each month and don't carry over; packs you buy never expire. Subscribing needs an account, so it follows you into every game. Cancel any time.
Do I need an account?
No. Pick a name and you're in, host included. Sign in only if you want your packs and purchases on another phone, or in our other games. You can delete the account from Settings whenever you like.
How old do you have to be?
Porkies is made for teenagers and adults. The Kids preset keeps a family room clean when a grown-up is hosting. After Dark is for adults only, and it's never on unless the host switches it on.
Do we need a TV?
No. Play on phones alone and the reveal plays on every phone at once. Or open the room on any telly, laptop or tablet for the full bonfire and a host who reads the lies out loud.
How many people can play?
3 to 10 players. Anyone else can join the audience, who like their favourite lies (worth a few points to the liar) but don't score themselves.
Where do the facts come from?
Every fact in the bank is checked against a source, and a person reviews a sample of every batch, plus anything flagged, before it reaches a room. If you catch one that's wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we'll fix it, then pretend it never happened.
Is it like Fibbage?
Same family: write a lie, find the truth. The differences are ours. Your pants catch fire. Some rounds are about the people playing. You can make packs about your town, your topic or your crowd. And nobody needs to own anything: open a link and play.
What stops people writing something awful?
Every lie passes our word filter before anyone sees it, at the level the preset sets: slurs are blocked or masked in every preset but After Dark. Anyone can report something written, from under the ballot, under each card in the reveal, or the room's menu, and we look at every report. The host can remove someone (they can rejoin with the code) or ban them, and a banned device can't rejoin that room.
