The deal

Porkies is a party game about lying to your friends, for fun and for points. It is free to play, with no ads, and nobody pays to join a room. Porkies is made by Empyreal Creative and runs on its Empyreal Games platform.

Age

Porkies is made for teenagers and adults. Players type their own lies and answers. The After Dark preset, which only the host can switch on, includes adult questions and lets swearing and slurs through the filter: it is for adults only, and by switching it on the host confirms everyone in the room is an adult. To buy packs or Supporter you need to be an adult, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

What you type

You are responsible for your lies, your truths, your name, and anything you put into a pack. Lie about the facts, not about the people in the room: don't use Porkies to harass anyone, post someone's private details, or share anything hateful or illegal. In Truth About You, only tell the truths the subject would be happy to hear read out. Hosts can remove players, and we may remove packs or shared links that break these rules.

Packs

A pack is written by an AI from what you type. Place and topic facts are checked against sources before they reach you, but an AI can still get things wrong, so take a surprising fact as a good story rather than gospel. Crowd packs never state facts about the people in them; they ask the people instead. Each new pack you make uses one of your packs. If a pack fails its checks, you get it back. A place or topic pack someone already made may be offered to you for the same place or topic, and still uses one.

Packs are bought in the app, and belong to Porkies: they can't be spent in our other games. Packs you buy don't expire.

Empyreal Games Supporter

Empyreal Games Supporter is one monthly membership for all our games, and subscribing needs an account. While it is active you get a Supporter mark beside your name and room themes in every game, 2 packs every month in Porkies, used before the ones you bought, and credits in every other Empyreal game. Monthly packs refresh each month and don't carry over; packs you bought are never affected, cancelling included. An account holds one membership at a time.

It renews automatically each month until you cancel. Bought in the app, payment is taken by Apple or Google at confirmation and on each renewal, and you manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions at least 24 hours before the period ends. Bought on the web, you cancel it from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it runs to the end of the period you paid for. Refunds follow the store's policy, or ours for the web: write to us.

No warranty

Porkies is provided as it is. We don't promise it will always be up, that every fact is still true by the time you read it, or that your friends will ever trust you again. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss from using it. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Privacy and changes

What we keep is on the privacy page. We may update these terms as the game grows; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Questions: [email protected].
